Earth Day 2022 in Assisi

Our County Ecumenical Officer Jonathan LLoyd has been in Assisi, Italy, for Holy Week and The Triduum.

Jonathan was leading the liturgies for the Anglican congregation there, he took part in ecumenical meetings of church leaders and an ecumenical prayer gathering for Earth Day on 22 April.

Meeting at the place where Saint Francis preached to the birds, the gathering also included newly arrived Ukrainian families.

Over fifty Franciscan friars and sisters took part, and an olive tree was planted as a symbol of peace.
